There is always something happening at your church. And somehow, it all ends up on the desk of the same overwhelmed person trying to hold everything together with Canva templates, late-night edits, and a growing list of “we’ll get to it later.”
Most churches aren’t struggling because they don’t care about communication. They’re struggling because ministry moves fast, attention spans move faster, and keeping everything clear, consistent, and excellent takes an entire team of skills most churches were never built to staff internally.
This is the church communications gap.
TwoTone Creative helps churches communicate with clarity, consistency, and creativity through full-service church marketing services designed specifically for ministry.
After years serving in church communications before founding TwoTone, Jenny Cross has built a team designed to help churches stop strategize, create, and implement communication systems to build healthier and clearer experiences that impact congregations and communities.
Church communication is bigger than making things “look nice.” As a church marketing partner, we help churches create communication systems that reduce confusion, increase engagement, and support the mission of the church across every ministry and touchpoint.
Your church deserves communication that feels thoughtful, warm, modern, and trustworthy, not generic templates that all look the same. From sermon series branding to websites, social media, print, video, and campaigns, we help churches communicate in ways people actually pay attention to.
Most growing, healthy churches do not need just one skill set. They need design, web, copywriting, strategy, video, social media, photography, and marketing support all working together. Instead of trying to hire five different roles or compare dozens of church marketing companies, you get an experienced team already built to support ministry.
As a church communications team, TwoTone helps churches with:
”Our church had been attempting to get a new website built for 2 years and kept running into roadblocks. I found TwoTone Creative through a recommendation from a sister church and after meeting with Jenny the first time, I knew I had found the company we needed to finally get the website completed.
While working through the process of building our website, we asked for assistance with many other projects across multiple ministry areas. They are no longer the ‘company’ we hired to build our website, they have truly become a partner in ministry with our church.

We’ll talk about what communication currently feels like inside your church, what’s working, what’s constantly falling through the cracks, and where your team feels overwhelmed.
We create a custom communication strategy around your church’s ministries, goals, staffing structure, and rhythms, not a one-size-fits-all agency package.

We'll tell you what’s working (and what’s not), opportunities for improvements, and the #1 change you should make to improve your digital presence.
We work with churches of all sizes across the country. That said, we typically partner with churches with greater than 700 in weekly attendance, including children. Some have full or partially staffed internal communications teams who need support to fill gaps. Others have one staff member who acts as the internal project manager while we handle the strategy and creative. Some have no one specifically for communications, and we help fill those gaps too.
Absolutely. That’s one of the most common setups. We’re not here to replace your team. We’re here to strengthen it and take care of needs when your team is at capacity, doesn’t have a specific skill set, is on maternity/paternity/PTO, or gets a call to go somewhere else. We provide steady, week-in and week-out support for every season of your church's life.
Some churches bring us in because they need help building an actual project management and communication strategy instead of constantly reacting week to week.
Others need ongoing website support, help managing their Google Grant advertising, better systems for social media and email communication, or support keeping everything organized across ministries.
We also come alongside churches during high-pressure seasons like Christmas, VBS, Fall Kick-Off, and Easter, when timelines tighten, events multiply, and communication demands spike fast.
From campaign branding and invite materials to digital ads, landing pages, social media, print design, and announcement strategy, our church marketing services help churches communicate clearly during the moments when the most people are paying attention.
We've helped churches raise $40M+ through capital campaigns, and we bring full strategy, planning, and execution support alongside your leadership team. That means helping you craft the right message, build a timeline that works for your congregation, and develop a plan to reach your church body in a way that gets them genuinely bought in—not just to the dollar amount, but to the mission, the vision, and the why behind it all.
It depends on the size and complexity of the project, but one of the biggest things churches tell us after switching to TwoTone is how much faster and smoother everything feels. We’ve intentionally built our systems and team structure to support churches that need ongoing creative help without sacrificing quality or responsiveness. Many times this means we are starting and finishing projects on the day of; sometimes a project may take several weeks.
More involved at the beginning. Less involved as things move forward. We spend time upfront understanding your church, community, culture, congregation, ministries, and communication and churchwide goals. From there, our team helps guide the process and carry the creative load so your staff doesn’t feel buried trying to manage every detail themselves.
Most churches that are growing eventually realize that building a full in-house communications team is significantly more expensive than they initially expected. Salary is only part of the equation. Benefits, payroll taxes, PTO, equipment, software, training, and turnover costs add up quickly, especially when you need multiple skill sets like design, social media, web, video, strategy, and content creation all at once.
That’s why many churches find that partnering with a church marketing agency gives them access to an entire team of specialists (who won’t burn out and leave for another ministry job) at a lower overall investment than trying to hire and manage multiple full-time positions internally.
