TwoTone Creative is a marketing and design agency located in West Des Moines, Iowa. We design and write for a variety of clients, helping them with their communication strategies, design, messaging, social, and marketing initiatives. Our small team atmosphere allows us to be nimble, take ownership of our work, and move quickly to serve our clients. A Typical Work Week
This is a full-time, in-person position at our West Des Moines office. Not open for remote work at this time.
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for setting the vision for TwoTone’s marketing department, leading a growing team, and aligning strategy with execution. This role works closely with design, web, and business development teams to create remarkable brand experiences that deliver measurable results. A high level of leadership, marketing expertise, and strategic thinking are required for this role.
Top 5 Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, hold accountable: Marketing departments

Develop and implement full-scale marketing strategies for TwoTone and clients

Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and campaign development

Drive client growth through marketing insights, pitch support, and upsell opportunities

Participate in the TwoTone Leadership Team
Other Responsibilities:

Review work, provide feedback, and mentor marketing team members
-
Stay ahead of marketing trends and best practices across digital and traditional channels

Guide the creation of client-facing proposals and marketing strategies
-
Oversee department processes to ensure efficiency, clarity, and transparency

Manage timelines, budgets, deliverables, and overall department profitability

Collaborate with other department leads to ensure marketing is aligned with all areas of the business

Conduct market research to inform campaigns and content

Ensure consistency in marketing and brand standards
-
Participate in hiring and onboarding new marketing staff
-
Create a culture of learning, creativity, and continuous improvement

Represent the marketing department in executive conversations and decisions
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field (Master’s degree or continued education is a plus)

8+ years of experience in marketing, branding, or communications, including 3+ years in a leadership role

Proven ability to develop and lead high-level marketing strategies across digital and traditional platforms

Strong understanding of brand development, campaign execution, and content strategy

Experience building and managing high-performing teams

Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Google Analytics, WordPress, and major social platforms

Confident communicator with a strong ability to present ideas clearly to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders

Comfortable working with conservative Christian churches and nonprofits

Capable of aligning creative vision with business objectives and measurable outcomes

Ability to balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution
